NEWTON James Kenneth Mull, 71, of Newton, passed away December 2, 2016, at his residence. He was born February 15, 1945, in Cleveland County to the late Cecil Odell and Lena Marie Waters Mull. Ken graduated from Fred T. Foard High School, then went on to Old Dominion University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. Ken enjoyed having his friends and family in his home, hiking, walking, riding his bike, watching sports and was an avid tennis player for more than 20 years. He also enjoyed doing home repair projects for his family and most of all he loved giving to charity and to ELCA world hunger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant brother Cecil Larry Mull. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Jarrett Mull of the home; his son, John Mull and wife, Donna; his daughter, Emily Mull Stewart and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Alex and Jarrett Mull, Jonah, Ethan, Leah and Alayna Stewart and his brother, Ronald Leon Mull. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 7, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church with Reverend W. Richard Fritz officiating.
