Robin Glenn Shirey, was called to Heaven, "Where Loved Ones Are Waiting" on Tuesday evening November 29, 2016. He was born in Otway, Ohio on May 10, 1959, Twin to Rita (Shirey) Kingrey. He was the son of the late Harold Edgar Shirey and Rosie Belle (Sissel) Shirey. In addition to his parents, Robin was preceded in death by his siblings, Jerry Dwayne and Phyllis Kay Shirey, as well as his brother-in-law, Larry Stephens.
Robin lived a full life having graduated from Northwest School District in 1977 and joining the U.S. Navy, becoming an elite Communications Specialist aboard the USS Connole 1056 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1981. He then pursued a commercial "Electrician Lead" role at PalmHarbor Homes in Sabina, Ohio, where he worked until he began enjoying his retirement years with family and friends at his residence, down on the beautiful Scioto Brush Creek near Henley, McDermott, Ohio.
Robin is survived by twin sister, Rita (Dave) Kingrey, Denise (Russell) Fitzpatrick, Kathy Liles, June Stephens all of Scioto County and Sue (Marlyn) Davis of Peebles; brothers, Jeffrey (Phyllis) Shirey, Samuel (Thelma) Shirey, Edgar (Kay) Shirey and John (Arlene) Shirey all of Scioto County. Robin is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Koenig Cemetery on Tick Ridge, Otway, with Marlyn Davis officiating, military honors by Wm A. Baker Post 383 American Legion, Lucasville, Ohio . Arrangements are under the direction of the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway.
