Mildred was born to George Hayes Dunn, Sr. and Mary Alice (Gardner) Dunn, the fourth of six children. She grew up in Bryan, Bellville, and Raccoon Bend, Texas. Mildred was a long-time resident of both Bellville and Odessa, Texas where she was an active member of her church and community. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Frederick Benjamin Sterling, Sr., her parents, George and Mary Alice Dunn, three brothers, James Robert Dunn, George Hayes Dunn Jr., and Jack Gardner Dunn and wife Dorothy (Charpiot) Dunn, a sister, Mary Jane (Dunn) Shannon and husband, Ivan Maurice Shannon, brother-in-law, Goldie Charles Grube, and grandson, Jimmy Ochoa. She is survived by her three sons: Frederick Benjamin Sterling, Jr. and wife, Joyce, Jack Dunn Sterling and wife, Bobbie, Gene Alan Sterling and wife, Dee, and one daughter, Barbara Ann (Sterling) Browning and husband, Rick. She had ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nellie Ruth (Dunn) Grube and sister-in-law, Bernice (Berry) Dunn as well as a host of nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends.
