Mrs. Deborah Jean Essex Williard, 63, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born August 22, 1953 in Forsyth County. Mrs. Williard retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. She was a fun and loving person who loved animals and was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Williard was preceded in death by her parents, Ila Mae Lineback Essex and Charles Edward Essex. Surviving are her husband of 44 years, David R. Williard; two children, Suzanne Williard Bowman and husband John and Michael Williard and wife Mandy, all of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Alicia Williard, Alexandria Bowman and Jude Bowman; one brother, Larry Essex and wife Nancy of Clemmons and a niece, Laiken Essex of Clemmons. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Dr. Mary Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
