Mrs. Irene Adams, age 99 of Brodhead, Ky., passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Brodhead Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Brodhead, Ky.
She was born March 20, 1921 in Lincoln Co., Kentucky, a daughter of the late John Henry and Margaret Anderson Frazier. She was a member of Brodhead Baptist Church, enjoyed travel specifically the "Smokies," Church activities, cooking, her family, grandchildren and family reunions. Mrs. Irene had previously been an Inspector of airplane parts for Detroit Harvester during World War II, for four years. On March 18, 1944 she was united in marriage to Walter C. Adams and they enjoyed 56 years together prior to his passing on October 29, 2000.
Those left to celebrate her life are her children: Johnny Adams of Brodhead, Ky; Joann Price and husband Danny of Newnan, GA. Her grandchildren: Shannon Price, Dr. Susan Welch (Phillip), and Angela Norred (Jamie); great-grandchildren: Airman First Class Tyler Norred and Abby Norred; brother: William Frazier (Betty) of Danville, Ky; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers: Elmer "Bud" Frazier and Edward Frazier; sisters: Elsie Dishon, Beulah Grant, Grace Blanton, Viola Ishue, and Anna Lee Bell.
Services for Mrs. Irene Adams will be Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 from 11 am-1 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
