Lorenzo Gilpin, 79 years old, died at eight o'clock Saturday morning at his home at Cottageville following a long illness. His wife preceded him in death last summer. Mr. Gilpin was born near Cottageville, a son of Albert Barnard Gilpin and Martha Herdman Gilpin, and lived the greater part of his life in that community. He is survived by two sons, William of Pa., and Arthur of Louisville, Ky.; four daughters, Gertrude Webster of Cottageville, Hazel Goff of Spencer, Martha MIller of Parkersburg and Beatrice King of Logan; a brother, Alonzo Gilpin of Ripley; a sister, Martha Wheeler of Marietta, Ohio and several grandchildren. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Monday afternoon at the Cottageville M. E. Church, the pastor, Rev. W. I. Fiber officiating. The Palmer Funeral Home was in charge of the burial services.
