John H. Merryman, 69 of San Bernardino, Ca. passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009 in San Bernardino, Ca.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, son Randy Merryman of Kauai, sisters, Phydelis Brown of Sacramento, Ramona Merryman of Santa Monica, nephews, Jim Teller of Ga., Matthew Winegar of NV and James Pavis of CA, niece, Melissa Kerwick of FL., great nephews Zevin Winegar and Tanner Kerwick.

John was a pipefitter, a fifty year member of Local 398 as well as a smart businessman. He was an adventurer, starting his own mechanical contracting business over 35 years ago. He also built and operated a local restaurant and hotel.

Enjoying his social life even more, he was an avid classic car collector and when not cruising, took great pleasure in RV’ing, boating and riding his Harley. John was a member of SB Elks Lodge. There wasn’t anything John couldn’t fix or build. Everyone turned to him for advice and he loved to share his knowledge, especially that of his trade.

John loved life and people, no one was ever a stranger, everyone was his “buddy”. John was a very generous man in his own ways. He will be forever missed by his loving wife, family and friends.
