The son of Farquhar and Juliana (Armour) Ferguson. He was a member of the Lafayette Flying Corps. On June 3 1917 Ferguson enlisted in France's Service Aeronautique. He attended the aviation schools at Avord, Pau and the G.D.E., receiving his brevet on the Caudron on October 17 1917. Ferguson was assigned to Escadrille SPAD 96 and flew with that squadron until the November 11 Armistice. He was awarded France's Croix de Guerre with Palm for his April 12 1918 combat with a "Fokker triplace."Following WWI Ferguson lived in Greenwich Connecticut. He married Ruth Cozzens Amory on May 9 1925. He died of cancer in Easton, Maryland and is entombed at the Armour family Mausoleum.
