Elsie Ewton Kirk, 91, of Marietta, passed from this earthly life October 28, 2016 peacefully at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Marcus E. Kirk, and survived by daughters Gail Stahl, Lynn Jordan, and Jane Hendricks, and granddaughters Cynthia Jordan and Tegan Hendricks.
Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she and her husband moved to Marietta in 1948 to open Kirk’s Supermarket with family. She was active in the management of the grocery business, and as a volunteer in many Republican campaigns and the Cobb County Republican party.
A graveside service was held at New Salem Cemetery. Contributions to Wellstar Hospice Foundation may be made in lieu of flowers. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
