David J. Dodds, husband and father of 4, died on August 16, 1987 while co-piloting Northwest Airlines flight 255. He loved spending time with his family and friends, golfing, skiing (water and downhill snow), and he loved his job. When his son asked him if he was afraid of dying in an airplane crash, he explained that, while flying is quite safe, that he knew that a crash was a possibility. He said that he wasn't afraid of dying. He lived with a strong faith in God.

I was always a little bit afraid of losing him. I remember lying awake in bed at night and being worried sick when he was late getting home from a trip. It's no fun to lose someome you love. Your family will always miss you, Dad.

- love,
Ben
