James E. "Jim" Bakarich of Blaine passed away peacefully November 1, 2004 after a long illness. He was born in New Orleans, LA March 5, 1923. Jim served with several Law Enforcement agencies including the U.S. Border Patrol and retired from the U.S. Immigration Service in 1979. Jim often said "Once a Border Patrolman always a Border Patrolman."
He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Grace Bakarich and three brothers Page, Steve, and George.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Norma Jean (Gudmund- son) Bakarich of Blaine; daughter Nancy Bakarich of Bellingham; son Tim; two grandsons Scott and Shane Bakarich all of Blaine. Other survivors include his four siblings, Guenn (Jack) Jones, Sarah Thomas, Fred Bakarich all of Arizona, and Michael (Carolyn) Bakarich of Mississippi; special friends Bob and Miriam Ewing of Blaine and many relatives and friends. A memorial services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Free Church Unitarian, 1218 Harrison Ave. Blaine, WA.
