Sally was born January 16, 1932 at York to Albert A. V. Victor and Marjorie (Hedbloom) Kjelson. She attended elementary school in Stromsburg and graduated from Stromsburg High School in 1949. She then attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1953. She then went on to receive her Master's Degree from the University of Denver. While in Denver she worked as a Registered Med Tech.
After returning from Denver, Sally taught at Lewis and Clark Junior High School in Omaha for almost 30 years before retiring in 1991. Sally continued living in Omaha and in September 2016 moved to Remington Heights Retirement Community in Omaha.
In retirement she enjoyed reading books, watching TV movies, traveling to Denver to see friends and later traveling back to Stromsburg.
Sally loved sports and was a long-time season ticket holder for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She remembers attending her first game when she was 8 years old and her admission was 25 cents.
She served as director of First National Bank of Stromsburg before it was sold to Cornerstone.
Sally was a long-time friend of Bill W. and cherished many relationships with people from meetings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Lee, and one nephew Richard Kjelson.
