Allegra M. Majors, 99, of St. Jacob, Ill., born March 10, 1917, in St. Jacob, Ill., died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Faith Country Side, Highland, Ill.
Allegra was a devoted, long time member and organist of St. Jacob United Methodist Church, St. Jacob, Ill. She was active for many years with the Joy Singers, a group of musicians who entertained at many of the area nursing homes. She was a member of the St. Jacob Lion's Club, American Legion Post 665 Auxiliary and the VFW Post 7983 Trenton, Ill. Auxiliary. She was very well known for her pies that she baked for many occasions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane "Buck" Majors, whom she married in 1955, in St. Jacob, Ill., and who passed away May 23, 2009; and her parents.
Surviving are a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at St. Jacob United Methodist Church, St. Jacob, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at St. Jacob United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Price officiating. Burial will be in Keystone Cemetery, St. Jacob, Ill.
