He was the husband of Lily (Eklund) Kinghorn, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Son of late Lottie H. (Young) and the late James W. Kinghorn. He received his education through the Lowell School System and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1946. He also attended Lowell Technology School from 1948-1949.

He was employed by RCA Automated Systems for over 30 years where he was in Inventory Control. He also participated in LEM APOLLO Project to put a man on the moon. Prior to RCA, he was employed at Clayton Hosiery in Lowell. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in Lawrence and Lowell Flights from 1944-1948.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was Trustee Treasurer and Member of The Finance Board for many years. He also attended Pawtucket Congregational Church. He was a life member of Dracut Historical Society, serving as Treasurer from 2001-2012, AARP, the Lowell Community Teamwork, and the Dracut Senior member. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and was a former member of The whippoorwill Golf Club Hudson, NH.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 4 children; his 2 sisters; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Wilbur Kinghorn, and the late Clifford Kinghorn and his wife, Stella.
