Dr. Cole's Rites Held in Lawrence

Lawrenceburg, Ten., Feb. 9 --

Funeral services for Dr. A. D. Cole, well-known physician of Loretto, were conduted Thurday afternoon, at the Loretto Chruch of Christ by Gilbert Gibbs, minister. Burial was in the Loretto Cemetery.

Dr. Cole, 68, died at his home in Loretto Tuesday afternoon of a heart attack.

He was a native of Giles County but had practiced medicine in Loretto for 46 years. He attended the University of Nashville.

Dr. Cole was a Mason and a member of the newly organized Loretto Lions Club. He had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1920.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Lena Arthur Cole; two daughters, Miss Estha Cole, home demonstration agent in Maury County, and Mrs. H. D. Copeland of Ethridge; two nieces whom he reared, Mrs. Carl O. Johnson and Mrs. Carroll J. Hunt, both of Washington, D. C.; a grandson; two brothers, Jim and John Cole, both of Nashville; one sister Mrs. Gilbert McCartney of Minor Hill; and a number of other nieces and nephews.

Dr. Adolphus Dake Cole was born in Giles Co., TN to William Thomas Cole and Margaret Adeline Mankins. He moved to Lawrence County in 1906 and married Lena Pearl Arthur on Feb. 19, 1907.
