Marie McKenney Abfalter, 95, of St Paul, MN, Passed peacefully away Sunday, September 4th, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Marie was born in Roslindale, Massachusetts, spending her early life growing up and working in the Boston area. Most notably at the Boston Public Library.

Upon her marriage to her beloved Paul in 1956, she began her life in Michigan. Living for many years in her large home in Detroit. This was the gathering place for all of her family. While in Detroit she loved her job working at the Sacred Heart Seminary Library.

Upon Paul's retirement from Ford they moved to Frankenmuth, living at Independence Village. As Paul's health declined she needed more assistance, moving to what is now known as Well Spring Lutheran Home. After Paul's death she moved to St Paul, Minnesota to live with her nephew Robert Connolly.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul V. Abfalter, Saginaw, MI, her parents Edward O. and Mary S. McKenney, and her 5 siblings. Brothers, John (Jean) McKenney, Alma Gordo, New Mexico, and Edward (Agnes) McKenney, Boston, Massachusetts. Sisters, Frances (Thomas) Connolly, Canton, Massachusetts, Ann (Henry) Fischer, West St. Paul, Minnesota and Marianne (Eugene) Romer, London England.

Survived by Nephew Robert (Lynn) Connolly, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Brother-in-law Eugene Romer, London England and 35 other nieces and nephews.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 958 Tuscola, Frankenmuth, MI.

Marie will be buried with her husband Paul at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI, on Monday, October 17th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers donations are requested to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen or donors choice.
