Mrs. Sarah Landolt Dies At Pocahontas.
Body is Taken to Grantfork for Interment.
Mrs. Sarah Landolt died at her home in Pocahontas at 2:30 p.m. last Tuesday, at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 6 days, after illness of two years of cancer of the stomach.
The funeral cortage left the family home at 10:30 a.m. Friday and funeral services were held at Grantfork at 1 p.m. Interment was in the Grantfork cemetery. Mrs. Landolt was born February 5, 1858, on a farm two miles west of Grantfork and was a daughter of Benjamin Eaves. On December 24, 1874 she was united in marriage with Joseph Landolt of the same place. To this union eight children were born. The couple lived on a farm three miles southeast of Alhambra until a year ago this month when they moved to Pocahontas. Mrs. Landolt joined the Christian church when sixteen years of age and remained a faithful and consistent member all her life.
She is survived by her husband, and seven children: William Landolt, of Decatur; Mrs. Malissa Bardsley, of Edwardsville; Mrs. Amelia Wisnasky, of near Old Ripley; Mrs. Minnie Wisnasky, of Decatur; Mrs. Effie Schauster, of Alhambra and Miss Edith and Frank of Pocahontas, one daughter, Maggie, preceding her mother in death. Mrs. Landolt is also survived by eleven grand children and the following sisters and brothers: William Eaves, of Eldorado and Frank of Centralia; Miss Lizzie Eaves and Mrs. Laura Marshall, of Boyleston; Mrs. Anna Atkinson, of Fairfield; Mrs. Cora Bradley, of Eldorado; Mrs. Minnie Mahan, of Princeton, Ind.; and Mrs. Maggie Young of Little Rock, Ark.
