He was born November 15, 1937, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to parents Wilford D. Allen and Ruby Foote Allen and had been a lifelong area resident. Jarrell was a graduate of Nacogdoches High School and served in the National Guard of Texas and a reserve of the U.S. Army. With 37 years of service, Jarrell retired from NIBCO after working in various positions.
In addition to traveling with his wife and family, Mr. Allen enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fishing. One of his favorite past times was watching football with his favorite team-the Dallas Cowboys.
His survivors include his wife of almost 35 years, LaQuita Joiner Allen; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Jennifer Allen of Cushing, Texas, Jarrell and Christy Allen of Pearland, Texas, and Kenny Allen of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Bobby Rawls of Longview, Texas; a step-son, Randy Jordan; grandchildren, Taylor Fisher, Zachary Fisher, Brett Allen, Tori Allen, Thomas Allen, Cali Allen, and Kolton Allen; and step-grandchildren, Skylar Jordan and Tanner Jordan.
Funeral services are set for 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf's Sunset Chapel, 5400 North St. in Nacogdoches, with Bro. Dennis Land officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby, Texas.
