Frank came to life on May 23, 1972. Frank will be met in Heaven by his dad Theodore F. Elkins, Sr., his grandparents, Ray and Maddelina Roberts, and Isreal and Flora Elkins. He is survived by his mother, Rose Elkins, a sister, Jacintha Davis, a fiancée Tammy Fraley Baez and a son, Johnnie Baez and many friends who loved him dearly.

Even as a young boy we knew his life would be involved with fire and rescue and EMT paramedics. He learned in Germany to copy the sirens of the ambulances and police cars. So when we came home that is what he did in Young, Ohio. Soon after that he joined the Otway Fire Department and was hooked. He worked his way up and worked as a medic for Squad 2. He also worked for Life Ambulance and Portsmouth Ambulance. He also worked for a short time at Dr. Arrick’s office. While he was there he learned about pacemakers and defibrillators and worked with those patients. He had one put in last year by the pacemaker team from Columbus that he had worked with. After that he worked at Appalachian Wood Flooring for a few years.

When Frank was a teen he was also in Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed the military part. And while he was there he received his student pilot license. He was a 1990 graduate of Northwest High School.

When 9/11 hit Frank volunteered to go to New York with a team. He was there for about a week doing clean up at the Twin Towers. Frank was very proud of our country and afraid that everyone would forget.

Frank was grateful for his friends that have been here this week. He loved all the company and time spent with everyone. He was surrounded by many friends and family at the time of his passing on Saturday evening, September 30, 2016.

Funeral services will be Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway, Ohio with Pastor James Pertuset officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery, Piketon, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday and 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
