Ann Millicent Mangum Davis, 90, who died in Greenville, NC on December 26, 2009. She was born in Ocean View, VA to Carlyle "Tony" and Margaret Petree Mangum on December 27, 1919, later moving to Winston-Salem. The oldest of 3 children, her brother was Dr. Mike Mangum, M.D. (deceased) and her sister was Margaret "Peggy" Simmons (deceased).. She was married to Samuel Joseph Davis (deceased) on September 4, 1943 in Smyrna, TN. During the next 57 years they had a son, Patrick Fielding Davis and lived in Norfolk, VA, Washington, D.C., Annandale, VA and Newbern, NC.. After her husband's death she lived with her son and his wife, Cris in Manassas, VA and Edenton, NC and is survived by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School and Salem College. Her work experience was in the U.S. Government's National Archives and as a Finance Supervisor for Fairfax County, VA where she retired after 20 + years of service. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Forsyth Memorial Park..
