Services for William John Korf, 92, Mediapolis, who died Thursday in Mercy Hospital, will be held at 2 pm Monday in the Methodist church., Mediapolis. Rev. Paul Gauer will officate. Burial will be in Kossuth cemetery. The body is at Fry's chapel, Mediapolis.
Kory was born May 18, 1868 on a farm southeast of Mediapolis, the son of Antone and Mary Nyhart Korf, and was married Dec. 11, 1894 to Alice Stivers. The couple lives on a farm near Winfield for 6 years, moved to a farm in Union county where they lived for 17 years and in 1918 moved to a farm near Mediapolis where they lived until they retired to live at Mediapolis in 1942.
William was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are a daughter, June: 5 sons, Chester of Burlinton, Everett, Paul, Merritt and Lawrence, all of Mediapolis; 16 grandchildren. His wife, a son Stanley, two great-grandsons, three sisters and three brothers are dead.
