His widow filed for pension 15 March 1915, App#1043592

Official records indicate that he enlisted 6 Sept 1861 and that he was at home sick in Vermont by that same November. He was a patient at Steuart's Mansion Hospital, Baltimore, MD until being listed by the Battleboro, VT General Hospital as having deserted 30 June 1863. He was Mustered out with a dishonorable discharge 28 Oct 1864, with loss of all pay and allowances. 10 July 1894 the pension office noticed that he had reported himself to the Provost Marshall, 2nd district of Vermont 1 Sept 1865. He was officially dishonorably discharged 13 Sept 1865 and was handed the paperwork by a Captain Henry.
