Mount ""Vernon"" Narron, Jr., 74, of Hopewell died Thursday, September 15, 2016. He retired after 29 years as Chief Operator from Honeywell, and served as a Hopewell City Police Officer. He served in the Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He was predeceased in death by his parents Mount Vernon Narron, Sr. and Martha L. Smith Narron , granddaughter Brittany Narron, and first wife Rebecca "Becky: Noblin Narron. Vernon is survived by his wife, Nora Lee Narron; two sons, Sterling D. Narron and Vernon D. Narron and wife, Michelle; four grandchildren, Vanessa M. L. Narron, Tori L. Narron, Preston D. Narron and wife, Audell, Christine N. Pruett and husband, Ben; four great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy N. Hardin; brother, Larry Narron and numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Claremont Cemetery, Virginia Ave., Claremont, VA 23899. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Charity Baptist Church, 4716 Ruffin Rd. Prince George, VA 23875 in Vernon's honor.
