VESTA EVELENA BAIRD
Vesta Evelena Baird, 91 year-old former Mooreland resident, died Saturday in Pico Rivera, California. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (today), February 25, in Mooreland Cemetery with Dan Snider, pastor of the Mooreland First Christian Church, officiating. Billings-Knittel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Vesta Evelena Baird was born July 21, 1890, to William Shire and Martha Emmaline Burkhart Young in Missouri. She came with her parents as a child north of Mooreland. She attended rural schools north of Mooreland.
In 1912 she married Andrew Martin Baird and he preceded her in death October 5, 1943. In the early 1950's, Vesta moved to California where she resided until her death.
Survivors include four sons, Audice Baird of Woodward, Milton Baird of Maywood, California, Eugene Baird of Pico Rivera, California, and Merril Baird of Clinton; one daughter, Mrs. Faye Dart of Pico Rivera, California; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
