David was born in Vallejo, California and moved to Fairfield in 1976. David Baumann passed away on Aug. 21, 2016, after a short illness at the age of 68.

Dave was a rambunctious intelligent child. His mother & father put him in piano lessons at the age of 6 to help him have some "sit" time. When Dave was 8 the teacher told his mother, Dave had surpassed her. The pianist of the Oakland Symphony took Dave on as his student. Dave had that rare talent of being able to sight read music in one key, translate and play it in another key - instantaneously. At the age of 10 his piano instructor told his parents, Dave is not a piano player, he is a Prodigy. It was recommended Dave go to New York for further study.

Dave took up another instrument & immediately excelled in playing the guitar. By the time Dave was 14, he had formed his own band & would book sell out events all over Solano County & extended areas. Dances, Concerts, his own Radio Show, Music was always a part of David's life.

He is survived by his mother, Jaqueline Baumann; two sons, Aaron Baumann and Matthew Baumann; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Suzy Baumann; and brother, Jeff Baumann; and many nieces, great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Baumann, in 2012.

Celebration of life service was held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 17, 2016, at Castlewood Baptist Church, 3615 Georgia St., Vallejo, California.
