After graduating from Northwood High School in 2001 David enlisted in the U.S. Army where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant E6 NCO. He bravely served in Iraq for eight months following which he was stationed at Osan Air Force Base in South Korea. During his five years of military service, he received a Service Achievement of Merit award and two commendations. His proudest military accomplishment, however, was being selected as NCO of the year. He was an avid duck hunter and fisherman and was recognized as an International Outdoor Sports Champion in the Advanced Hunter Education Program. He loved music and especially cherished his special Aunt Kay's haircuts. David was very involved in his church and dearly loved the Lord and his church family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray McBride and Mr. Milton Moore.
David died as a result of an automobile accident that occured on July 26, 2006 near the end of what had been a happy leave home. He was 23.
