Larry Duane Miller, 74, of Moatsville, died Saturday, September 3, 2016, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following an extended illness.
He was born April 25, 1942, at Moatsville, the son of the late Hugh Elbert and Martha Lee (Haller) Miller.
On March 2, 1963, he married the former Karen Sue Reed, who preceded him in death on June 20, 2012.
Also surviving are three sons, Cris Allen Miller, Philippi, Chadley Duane Miller and Craig Evan Miller, both of Moatsville; three granddaughters, Tamiya Cheyanne Miller, Moorefield, Mauren Elizabeth Miller and Alexandra Nichole Miller, both of Philippi; two sisters, Sheila Sutton, West Union, Susan Clark, National Harbor, MD; and his faithful canine companion “Festas”.
Mr. Miller retired as an equipment operator for the J. F. Allen Construction Co. with 42 years service. He continued working the family farm. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Buckhannon and enjoyed doing genealogical research and collecting old pictures and Miller memorabilia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 966 South Main Street, Philippi. Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Morris Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Tuesday.
