Hugo "Alfred" Marten was born on Nov. 6th 1896 in Forst, Germany to Friedrich W. Marten and Helene Vietzky. He and his wife, Anna L Marten(Dubrau), were married on May 28th 1921. They were baptised members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Nov. 13th 1926. He came to America on Dec. 7th 1952 with his wife and daughter Hannelore Marten aboard the S.S. Ryndam after departing from Rotterdam, Netherlands on Nov. 28th 1952. He then settled down in Spokane, WA where he worked as a tailor. He and his wife were sealed together for all time and eternity on Aug. 10th 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple. He passed away on Nov. 29th 1979 and was laid to rest at the Greenwood Memorial Terrace on Dec. 3rd 1979.
