Doyle E. McDonald, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, May 29, 2000 at his son's home in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2000 at 11 a.m. from 11:00 a.m. from the Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Dale Golden officiating. Intement will be in Riverside Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 31 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coomer United Methodist Church, Hospice of Central Michigan or Sacred Heart Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Doyle was born October 6, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of James and Marie (Salchert) McDonald. He married Marjorie McLachlin on August 8, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant.
Doyle was a lifetime resident of the area. He served in the United States Air force during the Korean Conflich. Doyle was a self employed carpenter and residential builder and contractor and also worked in a cabinet shop. He attended the Coomer United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Doyle James McDonald and Ronald Willis (Anne) McDonald, all of Mt. Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Catherine McDonald of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren; brothers, Elton J. (Betty Lou) McDonald and William E. (Edna) McDonald, all of Mt. Pleasant; sister Agnes L. McDonald of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marjorie, son Stanley; daughter, Lou Ann Jean McDonald; and sister Ethel McDonald.
