The doctor received his BA. at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and his masters at Columbia University in New York. He graduated from Boston University Medical School in 1957. Dr. Papazian completed an internship at Nassau County Medical Center in Long Island, N.Y. He served a one year residency at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. and a second year of residency with the Children's Medical Service at the Mass. General Hospital in Boston. He had been a teaching Fellow at Harvard Medical School.
He was an Attending Physician with the Child Development Center at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. In later years, he completed a special Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology at the Boston Floating Hospital at New England Medical Center.
Dr. Papazian was a member of the Academy of Pediatrics, the California Association for the Neurologically Handicapped Children and the AMA. He was a lecturer who had written numerous publications in his field and was in Who's Who of the West.
Dr. Papazian was a Developmental Pediatrician who was a partner with the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group. He had been in practice for 33 years. Dr. Papazian was an advocate physician for children who had Attention Deficit Disorder and Dyslexia. He pioneered the first Learning Disabilities Clinic in the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program.
He is survived by Marian Yagjian, his wife of fifty years, a son, Aram Clement, a daughter Araxie Michelle, and one grandchild, Mia. A memorial service was held on the evening of Dr. Papazian's Fiftieth Reunion from medical school, at the hotel where the reunion took place. A second memorial service will take place for family and friends. Date to be announced. Private interment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
