MR. MURRAY SMITH FOUND DEAD IN FIELD. ; The citizens of the community surrounding Apple Valley were shocked on Tuesday to hear of the death of Mr. Murray Smith. About noon hour, Mr. W. A. Carter was passing along the road| and saw Mr. Smith's horse walking about in the field, with the plow attached to him. He went into the field to investigate the cause, and found the dead body of Mr. Smith lying upon the ground. The coroner was summoned, an inquest held, and the verdict was that he came to his death from heart failure. Mr. Smith was one of the substantial citizens of the county. He had an honest, upright, Christian character, and was always on the side of right. He leaves a wife, who was a Miss Adair. His body was laid to rest in the Adair burial ground on Wednesday.

IN MEMORY OF BROTHER W. MURRY SMITH

Bro. W. Murry Smith was born August 6th, 1885, and departed this life May 21, 1912. He was married to Miss Mary Adair, December 26, 1880. They lived happily together thirty two years, were always so devoted to each other. We know it was hard to give him up. But God knoweth the best; He giveth, and He taketh away. So grieve not, bereaved ones, for our losss is Heaven's gain. He was born and raised in Jackson county, and was connected to one of the most prominent families of this country. He was widely known, and loved by everybody that knew him. He is greatly missed in his community, and especially in Oconee Baptist church, of which he became a member in heavenly life, and was ever faithful to its duties until death.
Resolved, 1. That we humbly bow in submission to His will, who said, "Blessed are they that die in the Lord; for they shall rest from all their labors, and their works do follow them"
2. That the church sympathize with his dear wife and loved ones in their sad hours of bereavement, and may they put their whole trust in Him who doeth all things well.
3. That a copy of these resolutions be spread on our minutes, a copy be sent to The Jackson Herald, for publication, and a copy be sent to the family.
