Grew up in Ste. Genevieve County and attended school there. Later attended Flat River Junior College and began a career with the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 20 plus years.

Long-time member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington and later accepted the call to ministry and was ordained into the permanent deaconate of the Catholic Church on June 6, 1992 by then Archbishop John L. May. Served St. Joseph Parish as a deacon for twenty years until his health forced him to retire in 2012. Was a member and past Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus Council # 12332.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Rickey Valleroy and Father James Dyer as celebrants.
