Donna Kay Barnett 1947 - 2016 Donna Kay Barnett was born on November 30, 1947 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Winston & Addie Voyles. While living with her family in Anadarko, Oklahoma she completed high school and met the love of her life – Jackie Barnett, who she married on April 6, 1965. She later furthered her academic achievements with a Bachelors in Education from the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma and a Masters in Education Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. Her love of education continued to flourish as she taught in the Verden, Oklahoma school system for 28 years, while simultaneously teaching adult education classes in the evenings for 12 years. When her children were young, she often made family projects out of gardening, canning and shooting. As she grew older Donna found delight in the world of genealogy and spent many hours traveling and researching with her husband, Jackie. She loved to travel, read, shop, and most importantly, spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donna had a very strong work ethic, and took great care to instill this mindset into the lives of her children. She loved being an educator, and found tremendous fulfillment in the accomplishments attained by her students. Many of her previous pupils validate the lasting impact she continues to have in their lives. Donna is survived by: Her husband, Jackie Barnett of Chickasha, OK. Her son, Winston Barnett & wife Cyndi of Hydro, OK Her daughter, Monica Lyon & husband Jeff of Edmond, OK Her grandchildren, Ashleigh Johnson & husband Miles of Yukon, OK, Jackee Renee Kaiser & husband Mike of Enid, OK, Winston Tyler Barnett of Hydro, OK, Dane Johnson of Edmond, OK, Candice, Madison, Tiffany, Hayden, & Landon Lyon of Edmond, OK Her great-grandchildren, Paysen & Hallie Kaiser of Enid, OK, Peyton & Joslynn Lyon of Edmond, OK Her brothers, Terrell Voyles & wife Fay of Washita, OK, Freddy Voyles & wife Kathleen of Chickasha, OK Her sister, Deborah Voyles of Chickasha, OK Donna has been preceded in death by her parents Winston & Addie Voyles Donna departed at the age of 68 to be in the presence of the Lord Jesus on July 30, 2016 as she was blessed with many of those closest to her by her side - in love, tears, and much prayer.
