William Aldridge, known as "Will," died at the age of 18, in combat, while in Afghanistan. While on Patrol, he was hit by a detonated explosion. He was a Rifleman attached to the 2nd Battalion of the Rifles. He joined C Company, 2 Rifles, in Ballykinier, Northern Ireland, in December of 2008, at the age of 17, after attending the Army Foundation College at Harrogate, England, and completing Infantry Training in Catterick, England. He is survived by: His mother, Lucy Aldridge, and two younger brothers, George Murphy and Archie Murphy.
