Pallbearers will be Weldon Pugh, W.E. Williams, Marvin Stewart, Billy Bob Waddle, Orville Martin, Jack Mason, Hardy Parrott, Bobby Ewing, Jerry Tanner, Ralph Moser, Cecil Clark, and Homer Wacasey, Jr.

Funeral services for Clifford M. Abernathy, 57 were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Westview United Methodist Church with Rev. George Topper and Rev. Ben Smith officiating. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery, under direction of Sorrells and Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Abernathy, who lived at 102 Pecan St., died suddenly Friday while on a fishing trip to Center.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1914 in Hunt County, the son of Milton and Minnie Wacasey Abernathy, and he married Marie Curtis in 1945.

He was manager of Standard Parts Co. in Greenville and belonged to Westview United Methodist Church where he served as a member of the official board. He was a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion.
