Services for Steven K. Allen, 53, Topeka, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in Topeka. Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery. Mr. Allen died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at his home. He was born Nov. 16, 1952, in Manhattan, the son of Donald D. and Dixie Fisher Allen. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1970 and received an associate's degree in communications from Fort Scott Community College, where he was a member of the football team that won the National Juco Title both years he played. The teams were inducted into the Fort Scott Sports Hall of Fame. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in communication arts from Washburn University. Mr. Allen was a marketing executive for Personalized Brokerage Services. He married Kathy Gaffney on Nov. 17, 1984, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his mother; a son, Shane; two daughters, Nicole Nantz and Kelsey Allen; three brothers, Jay, Paul and Vance; and a granddaughter, Madison Shirley. His father and a sister, Dixie Diane Allen, died earlier. Family visitation Saturday at the chapel. Memorials to Midland Hospice Care, or to the American Diabetes Assn.
