MANSFIELD: Tom Wolf had a generous soul. He learned that selflessness was a practice, not a place; a journey more than a destination. His genuine caring nature flowed from a loving heart that put the needs of others above his own.
Remembered as compassionate and thoughtful in every word and deed, Dr. Thomas D. Wolf, D.C. went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening July 12, 2016 from the emergency room of OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was 58.
Born May 23, 1958 in Mansfield to John and Cleva (Bletz) Wolf, Tom was graduated from Lexington High School in 1976. He studied at The Ohio State University, and in 1985 was graduated Cum Laude, second in his class, from National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, Illinois.
In May of 1986 he opened Wolf Chiropractic, recently celebrating 30 years of operations in Mansfield. He was a member of Ohio State Chiropractic Association and attended Vineyard Columbus in Westerville.
An active tennis player, Tom was often seen riding his Harley custom Soft Tail on an evening ride to dinner or short cruise to get orange vanilla twist ice cream.
Tom's family captured his heart and his attention. They include his wife Kathy (Dearman) whom he married April 21, 1979; their daughter Brittany Wolf; their son Troy Wolf and granddaughter Savannah Rose Wolf, all of Mansfield; sisters Barbara (Dr. Ronald) Cyphers of Bellville and Becky (Blain) Tilton of Butler and a large extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Tiffany Wolf on March 23, 2016 and by a sister Mary Beth Wolf.
The Wolf family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. His cousin Pastor Timothy Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Dr. Thomas D. Wolf Memorial Fund (Make checks payable: Snyder Funeral Home) and may be made at the funeral home.
