Peter was born on the family farm south of Shaunavon on November 26, 1911 and attended the Rhodes School . He worked for farmers in the district until 1934. Peter then went to Denholm , Saskatchewan with horse and wagon. He returned to Shaunavon in 1938. He worked on the farm in the summer and in coal mines in the winter. In 1943 he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Armed Service Corps. He was overseas for two years and was discharged in 1946. Peter married Catherine Sinclair (Dot) at her parent’s home in the Garden Head district on July 10, 1946 . Peter worked for Tidewater/Marathon Oil for 23 years, retiring in 1976. Through his retirement years Peter spent as much time as possible enjoying his family. He loved spending time with his family and they were his whole life. He would enjoy entertaining with his favorite songs, singing as well as playing the violin and guitar. Peter loved the game of crib, gardening and golfing. He volunteered as a driver for the Shaunavon Courtesy Car. He was a member of the Shaunavon Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Peter was predeceased by his parents Gertrude and Mandius Aadland, his brothers, Kelly and Richard and one daughter-in-law Edna.

He is survived by his wife Catherine (Dot), his sons, Darcy of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, James of Thompson, Manitoba, and Ron (Shauna) of Medicine Hat, Alberta, his daughters, Patsy Chaisson (Colin) of Calgary, Alberta, Mina Auger (Laurent) of Thompson, Manitoba, and Judy of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, his brothers, Ted (Marie) of Shaunavon, Les (Cecile) of Medicine Hat, and his sisters, Hazel Crossen of Edmonton, Agnes Wilton of Shaunavon, Garda VanAllen (Vic) of Climax, and Jo Onyschuk of Edmonton, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
