Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian A. Mucha, 93, a resident Bettendorf, will be 10 am Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1506 Brown Street, Bettendorf. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. The family will greet friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Davenport. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. There will be additional visitation Tuesday in the Gathering Space at the church from 9:00 until 10 am.

Lillian passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 in at the Iowa Masonic Home, Bettendorf.

Lillian Agnes Pohlmann was born May 25, 1923, in Davenport, a daughter of Bernard III and Lillian (Snyder) Pohlmann. She graduated from I.C.A. and after attending business school she first worked at the Rock Island Arsenal, and then as a secretary for Junior Achievement and the Syndicate Hub. She retired in 1985 as an executive secretary for Fireman’s Fund Insurance.

She was united in marriage to Theodore Thompson on August 24, 1946. He preceded her in death February 20, 1969. She then married John Mucha on June 20, 1975. He preceded her in death June 9, 1999.

Lillian loved to play bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs.

She was past Regent of Daughters of Isabella, past President of Davenport Association Insurance Women, a member for over 70 years of Beta Sigma Sorority, member Altar & Rosary Society, Catholic Women’s League, Putnam Museum Guild, and Plus 60 Club.

Memorials can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church or the American Cancer Society.

Those left to honor her memory include, her children and their spouses, Barbara (Steven) Untiedt, Pleasant Valley, Theodore (Diana) Thompson, Bettendorf, Patricia (Steven) Scranton, Taylor Ridge, Cheri (Ron) Rogers, Monument, CO; grandchildren: Carrie (Steve) Pattillo, Steven Strother, Christopher (Michelle) Strother, Emily Strother, all of Colorado; Geoffrey (Julie) Untiedt, Rock Island, Brian Untiedt, Davenport, Eric Untiedt, Bettendorf, Mike Tomlinson, Davenport, Matthew (Leigh) Thompson, Davenport, Kristin (Justin) Moore, Omaha, NE; and 11 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Patricia Hartkop, as well as numerous loving extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers, Bernard IV Pohlmann and Jack Hartkop, and sisters, Sibylla Rasmussen and Charlotte Thompson. May they rest in peace.
