Mr. John Joseph Abent, Jr. passed away Tuesday evening at Griesinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born in Taylor, he was a lifetime resident of Dureya and graduate of Dureya High School. He served in the Air Force during Vietnam era. He was employed by Kappa Graphics, Hughestown, a member of Holy Rosary Church and American Legion Post 585, Dureya.
Remaining are his mother, daughter Danielle Abent, son John Abent, a grandaughter, three sisters: Mrs. Maryann Aruscavage (William), Mrs. Joan Golushka (Edward), and Mrs. Catherine Gorcenski (Bernard), and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Saturday at 9 a.m., from Bernard J. Pionetek Funeral Home, Dureya. Mass 9 a.m. in Holy Rosery Church, with interment at parish cemetery. American Legion will hold military service Friday at 7 p.m.
