The Paris News. 12 Jan 1975. JOHN WESLEY POSEY- Funeral services for John Wesley Posey of 1973 E. Booth St., were conducted at 4:00 p. m. Monday in Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with C. U. Morrison and Mike Folmar officiating. Burial was made in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Posey died Saturday night at his home.
He was born 3 Nov 1894 in Lamar County, the son of William Henry and Mary Wllie (McClure) Posey. He married Miss Maudie Emma Taylor on 27 Nov 1926.
He was a longtime ranch foreman for the late Fred Council. He retired about five or six years ago.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Mary Jo) Tallant and Mrs. Bill (Melba Jean) Jones; a son, Donnie Ray Posey of the home; two step-sisters, Mrs. Tom Brannum and Mrs. Curtis Wilson; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Zona Bell) Williams. Also his parents many years ago.
