COAL TOWNSHIP — Bessie A. (Coleman) Robel, 93, of Coal Township, passed away Tuesday Nov. 7, 2006, at Mountain View Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.
She was born Sept. 23, 1913, in Coal Township, a daughter of the late Andrew and Cora (Greager) Kerstetter. She married John M. Coleman, who preceded her in death. She then married Anthony T. Robel on July 27, 1957, and he preceded her in death March 16, 1998.
Mrs. Robel returned to Coal Township in 1993 after living in Coatesville since 1957.
She was employed as a seamstress for G&P Dress Factory, Coatesville, for many years, retiring in 1972.
Bessie was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Coal Township.
Surviving are one son, Paul F. Coleman of Homestead, Fla.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Penrose Kerstetter of RR2 Paxinos; and two sisters, Estelle Lakaitis of Conshohocken and Betty Moyer of York.
She was preceded in death by one son, John M. Coleman; two brothers, Charles W. Kerstetter and John J. Kerstetter; and three sisters, Libby Abromitis, Harriet L. Williams and Freda Zawalick.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Odd Fellows Cemetery, RD1 Coal Township by the Rev. Bruce Ashlock.
Funeral arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.
