Sept. 24, 1872 "Hunterdon County Democrat" obituary: "Death of Andrew B. Rittenhouse - On Sunday morning Andrew B. Rittenhouse was walking the streets of Flemington, apparently in his usual health and spirits. On Sunday evening his funeral was announced from our churches. He was taken ill about eleven o'clock in the morning, and before five in the afternoon he was a corpse.... It is supposed that he died of heart disease. His funeral takes place on Wednesday, the 25th inst., at the Presbyterian Church in Flemington, at 10 1/2 A.M."
