Born on Feb. 5, 1907, in Potterstown near Lebanon, he was a son of Mrs. Rose Hendershot of Whitehouse Route 22, and the late Elwood Hendershot. He spent his early life in Lebanon. He resided most of his life in the Whitehouse area.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his widow, the former Ellen Cavalear; a son, John Jr., White House Station, with whom he resided; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Chamberlin, White House Station, and Miss Patricia Ann, at home; four brothers, Frank, Lebanon R.D.; George and Harry (Peter), both of Somerville, N.J., and Elwood Jr., Flemington; six sisters, Mrs. Marilda Frank, High Bridge; Mrs. Wilma Willard, Glen Gardner; Mrs. Florence Engle, Dover; Mrs. Edna Hehn, Missoula, Mont.; Mrs. Irene Craven, Staten Island, N.Y., and Mrs. Ruth Mason, Flemington, and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Bright Funeral Home, Lebanon.
