Ellen E. Hendershot, age 96 of Flemington, NJ, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington. She was born in South Bound Brook, NJ, on February 11, 1912, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ellen Cavalear. She lived most of her life in Whitehouse Station before moving to Flemington in 2001.

Ellen had done domestic work for various families in Whitehouse as well as companies such as Durling Farms. She also worked for a short period for the Hunterdon Review in the circulation department. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station.

Ellen was predeceased by her husband, John Lucas Hendershot who died in 1961 and her daughter, Shirley Mae Chamberlin who died in 1996. She is survived by her, daughter, Patricia A. Hendershot with whom she lived, her son, John Hendershot of Flemington, 5 grandchildren, John R. Hendershot and Doreen Russ both of Effort, PA; Darlene Kuhl and Denise Holzli both of Flemington and Janet Barclay of Milford. She is also survived by her 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at a funeral mass that will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to a charity of your choosing. Mass Cards are welcomed also.
