Mary was born on Oct 14, 1870 to Matthew and Cornelia van den Bolsem (nee de Vos) in Ooltgensplaat, Holland, The Netherlands. On Apr 6, 1892 the family immigrated to Pella, IA. On Jan 5, 1899 she married Oscar A Dickey and is living in Guilford, IA on the 1900 census. They divorce before the 1905 Iowa census. She marries Leendert 't Lam Feb 15, 1906 in Oskaloosa, IA, and is living with him in West Des Moines, Mahaska County, IA, which is 10 Miles NW of Eddyville on the 1910 census. On the 1920 Census, the year she died, they are in Pleasant Township, Monroe County, IA, which is 5 miles SW of Eddyville, but her obit specifically says she died at her home, 10 miles NW.


Mary died Nov 25, 1920 and was buried Nov 27th.
