On November 15th, 1966, Raymond B. Foppe was the First Officer on Pan Am flight 708, a cargo flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Berlin, Germany.

The airplane, a Boeing 727, crashed ten miles short of the Berlin-Tegel Airport while on its initial approach. The flight crew consisted of the captain, first officer and flight engineer. They were the only people on board, and all three perished in the crash.
