James C. "Jake" Robinson of Greenville died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Baldridge officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.

Born April 2, 1916 in Greenville, he was the son of Pete and Jenny Yeary Robinson. On Dec. 19, 1958 he married Dorothy Lee Dearing in Greenville.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a training sergeant stationed in California, Florida and Mississippi. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Robinson was director of Public Services for the City of Greenville from April 1, 1946 to April 12, 1976. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny Robinson and Alan Johns of Fort Worth and Jerry Lee and Keith Bonham of Rowlett; son and daughter-in-law John and Renee Lee of DeSoto; grandchildren, Collin Wade, Connor Wade, Amy Lee Isuani and husband Marc, Jason Lee and wife Lisa, Julie Johns and Jessica Johns; one great-grandchild, Logan Lee; sister-in-law Elaine Robinson and brother-in-law and wife, Neel and Alice Dearing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Fred, Vernon, Malcolm and Wesley Robinson and a sister, Gladys.

Pallbearers aree (sic) Collin Wade, Connor Wade, Jason Lee, Marc Isuani, Keith Bonham and John Lee.

Visitation is one hour preceding the funeral service.
