Mrs. Luttie Mae Gilyard went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2016, at the age of 75 years. She was born August 31, 1940, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Minnie Nichols and Albert Jackson.

Luttie Mae lived in Saginaw, Michigan most of her life. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School. Luttie worked outside the home for a short period, but her most precious job was that of being a homemaker. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age. Mrs. Gilyard was a faithful member at Zion Valley Baptist Church under leadership of Pastor John Rincher. She was a woman of faith, full of courage and strength, and she loved the Lord. Although she was a small petite lady, she had a big loving and caring heart. Luttie never met a stranger. She was always willing to help those around her. She had a big personality and a great sense of humor, always funny but yet serious at the same time. Luttie loved music, dancing and having a good time, and she wanted those around her to have a good time as well. Luttie Mae will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 52 years, Percy L. Gilyard; three daughters, Tanita Jackson, Atlanta, Georgia, Yolanda Frierson, Saginaw, Michigan, Karla Williams, Atlanta, Georgia; two sons, William (Anita) Frierson, Jr., Flint, Michigan, and Kirk Gilyard, Saginaw, Michigan; one stepdaughter, Rochelle (Gregory) Patterson, also of Saginaw, Michigan; one nephew, Aramis Nichols; one great-nephew; one great niece; honorary son, Demetrius (Annette) Frierson; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, all whom she adored; her mother, Minnie Nichols; one brother, Gary Nichols; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Luttie Mae Gilyard was preceded in death by her father, Albert Jackson, and one granddaughter, LaThesia Gilyard.

The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor John Rincher, DeVelma "Boo" Howard, Tawnya Fountaine, Sherry Patilla and Deborah Gibson for your love and support.
