Robert James Sumner passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer that had metastasized to the lungs. He had family by his bedside as he went peacefully.

Robert James Sumner graduated Oil City High School in June 1962 and joined the military. He began August 31, 1962 - August 31, 1966 in USAF Castle Air Force Base in California.
He worked Bet. September 1966 - January 1967, in the Oil City Glass Co, and Sawhill Tubular Products Bet. January 1967 - June 2004.
He spent most of his leisure time looking up family members and connecting his family tree. He made it his goal to find as many family members and relatives has he could and connect his family to many others and made sure those who had passed, had their stories told so they were never forgotten.
He loved spending time with family, and celebrating the 4th of July every year with as many family members as he could.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Morrison Sumner, his Stepson Fredrick Sumner and his wife Anna Sumner, sisters, Mary Lou Beggs and Eva, brother Waltz Sumner, his ex-wife Charlotte Conn Sumner Kovach, his daughter-in-law to his late son Cheryl Shaffer Sumner Lloyd and 5 grandchildren, Jessica Faith Sumner Clarke and her husband William Michael David Clarke, Sarah Elizabeth Sumner Jones and her husband Jeremiah Jones, Joshua Michael Sumner, Daniel Riley Sumner, and Mark Kramer, and his 3 great grandchildren, Aeris Sumner, Alexander Sumner and Logan Clarke.

He is preceded in death by his two children, son Robert Michael Sumner, and daughter Kathleen Louise Kramer and his father, mother and paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents.

Personal Note:

This is my grandfather, my father's father. He had a very wide ancestry collection and a F-A-G account here as well that he'd collected. For anyone interested in what he found, his ID is this:
